ABOUT WHANGAREI SUNSET RUN

Get ready Whangarei! 

We meet at Afare - 197 Lower Dent St. Participants are able to use the Afare car park for the evening but there is also parking along Lower Dent Street and Reyburn House Lane as well. We start the event with a 5km run/walk/jog that will take you along the stunning waterfront and around the town basin loop to meet back at the Afare venue for an empowering yoga session!  

Our event assistants will be available 15 minutes from the event start.  

HERE IS THE SCHEDULE: 

5:30 PM RUNNERS

5.15pm: Sign in and collect goodie bag - Please make sure to arrive 15-10 minutes before the event starts so that you have the chance to collect and change into your new tights :)

5:30pm: Run - We start together with a short introduction of names before the run to get to know each other and a short brief of the route. After that you are free to enjoy the run/jog/walk and the fantastic views :) 

6:30pm:  Yoga time! - All runners join up together for a relaxing yoga session. A chance to further connect with the people you have just run with, stretch and relax -  all while still being active. This yoga session will be held indoors and will be around 30 minutes long.
 

6:00PM RUNNERS

5:45pm: Sign in and collect goodie bag - Please make sure to arrive 15-10 minutes before the event starts so that you have the chance to collect and change into your new tights :)

6:00pm: Run - We start together with a short introduction of names before the run to get to know each other and a short brief of the route. After that you are free to enjoy the run/jog/walk and the fantastic views :) 

7:00pm:  Yoga time! - All runners join up together for a relaxing yoga session. A chance to further connect with the people you have just run with, stretch and relax -  all while still being active. This yoga session will be held indoors and will be around 30 minutes long.

 

WHAT TO BRING:

  • Jacket or jumper to stay warm while you're getting yourself ready and after (just in case)
  • Just essentials (we can’t take responsibility for your valuables but we will always have someone stay at the starting point)
  • Water bottle
  • Running gear (don’t forget your most comfortable running shoes - they are important!)
  • Any medication or stuff you might need to look after you
  • Reflective gear to keep you visible & safe in the dark (super-important as we're still in the middle of winter)
  • Happy, can-do-attitude! :)
     

On the event day, we will also have a small pop up store with exclusively discounted aim'n pieces! We´ll be able to take Eftpos and credit cards so make sure to check out the pieces :)
